The state received $2.54 million in medical marijuana taxes last month, increasing the 2022 total to $23.98 million, according to the department. Medical marijuana patients pay a 6.5% sales tax and a 4% privilege tax when they make purchases. Dispensaries also pay the 4% privilege tax when they make purchases from cultivators.
