Medical marijuana sales top $22 million in June July 14, 2022 By Griffin Coop Medical marijuana patients spent more than $22 million at the state’s 38 dispensaries last month, according to a state sales report. Patients spent $22.29 million on 3.926 pounds of products in June. The figures are nearly identical to the May sales report when patients purchased 3,917 pounds of products for $22.45 million, according to the report from the Department of Finance and Administration. Natural Relief Dispensary of Sherwood was the leading dispensary with 388 pounds sold followed by The Releaf Center of Bentonville with 313 pounds, according to the report. The Arkansas Department of Health reported an increase of 1,712 active patients cards for a total of 84,472 cards. “On average, patients in Arkansas are spending $22.37 million each month to purchase 3,920 pounds of medical marijuana,” said Scott Hardin, spokesperson for the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration and the state Medical Marijuana Commission. “State tax revenue generated from medical marijuana totaled $32.12 million in Fiscal Year 2022. The state’s 38 dispensaries sold 23,521 pounds of medical marijuana through the first six months of 2022.” We reported last week on the state’s 7% increase in medical marijuana tax collections during the 2022 fiscal year, which ended on June 30.
