Behind the cards: Whites account for 83.4% of cards, Blacks and Hispanics underrepresented

More than 8 in 10 of the state’s medical marijuana cards have been issued to whites, while whites make up only about 70.2% of the population, according to the 2020 census. Blacks and Hispanics are underrepresented among cardholders with Blacks holding 8.54% of the cards and Hispanics holding 2.13% of the cards.
