Dr. Yes is big on BOLD’s Cookies and Chem

This is the latest in a regular series of reviews of Arkansas medical marijuana strains.

I have mixed feelings about BOLD as a cultivator lately. On the one hand, some of the best cannabis I’ve tried in the Arkansas program was grown by BOLD. It’s very hard for me to pass up their Stardawg, Blue Dream or Purple Punch. On the other hand, it has become increasingly hard to find flowers from BOLD that aren’t labeled as “popcorn” or “small buds.” While these smaller buds still contain the same medicine as their larger counterparts, they are much less visually appealing and are generally considered to be of a lower quality and usually priced lower to reflect that. They also moved to packaging most of their flowers in resealable plastic pouches instead of jars, and that often means that the buds are smashed when I open the pouch. Because of this, I have been steering clear of BOLD and focusing on other cultivators. Recently, however, I decided it was time to see if the quality of these flowers was better than it looks, so I stopped by Berner’s by Good Day Farm in Little Rock and picked up an eighth of Cookies and Chem, grown by BOLD.
