The Source opens 21,000-square-foot store in Rogers July 14, 2022 By Griffin Coop The Source dispensary opened the doors today to its new location, a nearly 21,000-square foot facility in Rogers that the dispensary says will relieve space constraints and give the operation room to cultivate plants. The new storefront replaces the one in Bentonville where the dispensary opened in 2019. The new facility has doubled the parking and does not include a gravel lot like the old space, according to Compliance and Purchasing Director David Lawson. “Coming to a bigger space allows us more vault space, grow space and retail space,” Lawson said via email. The new location, surrounded by hotels and Outback Steakhouse, is located off of I-49 about four miles from the closed Bentonville location. “We hate to leave Bentonville, but we’re limited on where we can build in town,” Lawson said. “There are restrictions on where our license can go – with the buffer from schools and churches, this was the best location. Interstate access doesn’t hurt either.” The new location is 20,527-square-feet and will have more patient stations and a bigger pick-up area, Lawson said. The Rogers location will also have room for the dispensary to cultivate their own plants as many other dispensaries are doing. The previous location, at just 2,700-square-feet, did not have enough room for cultivation, Lawson said. “We aren’t growing just yet, but it’s around the corner,” Lawson said. The Rogers facility is a new build, designed by BiLD Architects of Fayetteville and built by Napa Construction, also of Fayetteville. “Our primary design goal for the project was to create a vibrant, eye-catching façade that encapsulates The Source’s brand from the exterior and draws visibility from I-49,” BiLD’s Bevan Brawner said in a statement. “We achieved this dynamic façade through a design concept consisting of both color and light pixels that appear to dance across the building exterior. The static pixel colors were color matched to The Source’s branding. The illuminated pixels are set up to vary, making the façade even more dynamic with ever changing spectrums of light.” The facility includes murals by Northwest Arkansas artists Octavio Logo, Jason Jones and Jessica Jones. The Source was the state’s eighth dispensary when it opened three years ago and will be Rogers’ first dispensary. The ReLeaf Center will be Bentonville’s only dispensary.
