State marijuana sales surpass $22 million in May June 15, 2022 By Griffin Coop Arkansas consumers spent more than $22 million on medical marijuana last month as sales for year reached approximately $112 million, according to a report from the state Medical Marijuana Commission. Arkansas dispensaries sold $22.45 million in May to purchase 3,917 pounds of products at the state’s 38 dispensaries, according to the report. The stores have sold 19,595 pounds this year. The top-selling store was Natural Relief Dispensary of Sherwood with 377 pounds last month. The ReLeaf Center in Bentonville was second with 314 pounds. The May sales brought the total number of pounds sold since the beginning of the state’s medical marijuana program to 102,710. “Through the first five months of 2022, an average of $741,000 is spent each day across the state’s 38 dispensaries to purchase medical marijuana,” said Scott Hardin, spokesman for the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. The state Department of Health reports 82,762 active patient cards, according to the report.
