Snoop Dogg endorses Issue 4 in video as campaign draws to close November 7, 2022 By Griffin Coop Snoop Dogg, the rapper and cannabis connoisseur, urged Arkansans to support Issue 4 in a video late Monday afternoon. In the 10-second video, Snoop Dogg, wearing a suit and sunglasses, speaks directly to the camera, saying, “What up, though, this is big Snoop Dogg and we need to vote yes. Yes. You know what time it is. Arkansas, let’s get it done.” Snoop Dogg nods affirmatively as the video ends. Let’s do this Arkansas! Vote FOR Issue 4!! @SnoopDogg pic.twitter.com/1JMsDtYPb4 — Alex Gray (@alextylergray) November 7, 2022 The rapper endorsed the measure on Instagram last week in addition to other recreational marijuana measures in Maryland, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota. Arkansas golfer John Daly endorsed the measure in a video on Saturday. Responsible Growth Arkansas, the sponsor of the amendment, also released a statement Monday from campaign director Robert McLarty, urging voters to support the Arkansas Adult Use Cannabis Amendment. “Same old song, different day. The opposition would like voters to believe the sky has fallen in other states that passed cannabis for adult use. It didn’t. The opposition wants voters to believe the manufacturing industry here in Arkansas will be negatively impacted, it won’t. That was the same message pushed out in the top 3 manufacturing states that have recently passed both medical and adult use cannabis. It didn’t happen there and it won’t happen here. Today’s scare tactics are just another attempt for politicians to disrupt reform. Ultimately issue 4 will be decided by the voters of Arkansas, not the politicians. Take advantage of voting tomorrow and make sure your voice is heard.” Meanwhile, Arkansas Surgeon General Greg Bledsoe held a press conference at the state Capitol today to speak against the measure. Bledsoe was joined by other state leaders, according to a report from KARK.
