Little Rock dispensary to become fourth Greenlight location August 9, 2022 By Griffin Coop CuraLeaf dispensary of Little Rock is planning to become the fourth Greenlight Dispensary location in the state, according to the agenda and materials for Thursday’s meeting of the state Medical Marijuana Commission. New Day Cultivation of Garland County also plans to change its name to Leafology, according to the documents. The name change for CuraLeaf follows a change of ownership last month for the dispensary located at 7303 Kanis Road. The commissioners unanimously approved James Barnes and Matt Summitt as the new owners of CuraLeaf at the commission’s July meeting. Barnes is a business owner and property developer who had a hand in developing the Aloft Hotel in West Little Rock and the Staybridge Suites on University Avenue. Summitt is the chief financial officer of BBA Corp. and is a former vice president at Stephens, Inc., according to his LinkedIn page. Barnes and Summitt purchased the business through an entity called GL Little Rock LLC. Each owns 50% of the business, according to the commission’s records. Barnes’ wife, Terry, owns a 2.353% stake in Good Day Farm Cultivation. Name changes appear on the commission agendas as notice items because they require notice to the board but they do not need board approval. Greenlight operates dispensaries in Monticello, West Memphis and Helena-West Helena. The commission’s agenda also lists ownership changes for Good Day Farm cultivation, Greenlight Monticello and Acanza dispensary of Fayetteville.
