Dr. Yes bananas for Cookies April 12, 2022 By Dr. Yes This is the next in a new weekly series of reviews of Arkansas medical marijuana strains. Strain: Apples and Bananas 50/50 Sativa/Indica Hybrid Genetics: (Platinum Cookies X Granddaddy Purple X Blue Power X Gelatti) Cultivator: Cookies by Good Day Farm THC: 22.7% Price: $55 per 1/8 oz before tax With the small number of cultivators and dispensaries available in the Arkansas Medical Marijuana program, I always get excited when a new company joins the fray. Cookies, a multi-state cannabis company based in California, has teamed up with Good Day Farm on its new Chenal Parkway dispensary location in Little Rock, bringing several Cookies signature cannabis strains to the Central Arkansas market. I decided to stop by on opening day to see what kind of products Cookies is offering. After a quick look at each new strain in the dispensary’s handy viewing jars and some helpful advice from the budtender, I decided to try out Apples and Bananas. My eighth came in colorful, strain specific, resealable packaging that looks great, although I prefer a jar so the buds are more protected. I got small popcorn buds that looked excellent. They were very well trimmed and cured, and had a frosty layer of trichomes to compliment the beautiful purple and dark green coloring. The smell was wonderful and exactly what you might expect from this strain, spiced apples and sweet bananas. The flavor is even better and has an added earthy, gassy kush taste mixed with the fruitiness. At first, the effects left me feeling focused, uplifted and ready to tackle some chores. However, after half an hour it settled into a very hazy, laid back full-body stone that lasted around two hours. Apples and Bananas definitely beat my expectations. It’s got a delicious and unique flavor and aroma, along with potent mood uplifting and relaxing effects. My only complaint is the price. My opinion is that paying over $60 after tax for an 1/8th ounce is just too much. And perhaps Good Day Farm heard that complaint from customers; the price has since dropped to $50 per 1/8th before tax. Still expensive, but there is no denying that Apples and Bananas is very high quality cannabis that outshines the vast majority of other strains available in the Arkansas program. So if you don’t mind spending a little more, I encourage you to check it out for yourself.
